This superb collection of approximately 850 stills, which documents the career of one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, Ronald Colman, was assembled over a thirty-year period by R. Dixon Smith, author of Ronald Colman, Gentleman of the Cinema: A Biography and Filmography (McFarland, 1991).

Colman’s most famous films include Beau Geste (1926), Bulldog Drummond (1929), A Tale of Two Cities (1935), Lost Horizon (1937), The Prisoner of Zenda (1937), If I Were King (1938), The Light that Failed (1939), Random Harvest (1942), and A Double Life (1947).

Included are many linen-backed original stills from the 1920s; most stills in this collection are originals or restrikes. One of the largest private collections of Ronald Colman stills in existence.
